The PART/OPS tab lets you to enter a
full range of options for collision parts;
part numbers, labor times and refinish
times. In the example, REPLACE OEM and
RIGHT were picked from drop lists. When
you select a repair area such as "FENDER"
(circled in red below), the PART field
displays a drop list of many of the common
parts for that area; just click
to select. These drop lists have many
default part names and you can customize
these lists to display the operations
and part names you use most. Then enter
basic labor, exterior and interior refinish
times from your data source. Click radio
buttons to choose premium paint operations
such as 2 tone, chip guard coat; even
blend time. Estimiser Pro will calculate
the correct amounts and overlaps for all
these options.
Note: Estimiser Pro is an intermediate solution. As
such, it does not contain a database of all vehicle parts, part numbers,
prices, and labor times. The positive side is that you only pay once
for the program. The flip-side is that you need to enter part prices,
labor and paint times. In the example, the user has "clicked in"
"Repair Rt Front Door" with no typing. Labor and paint times
were keyed in. Estimiser Pro will calculate Overlap, Clear Coat, Two
Tone etc from the paint times entered. It will also calculate the standard
extra time to cut and buff a panel. As of December 2009, most paint
manufacturers were recommending this operation. Insurance providers
are now or soon should be paying for this. See this link for a discussion
of recommendations.
